Hi, I’m Rebecca!

I’m a qualified Bowen therapist, yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner – and I am fiercely passionate about using these incredible modalities to help people find relief from their pain and stress so they can get the most out of every day.

When I left high school, I had my sights set on becoming a chiropractor. But life had other plans for me – like becoming a mum of six (4 kids of my own and 2 step-kids) with a whole lot of bills to pay. So for 25 years I worked as an event manager, ironically rated one of the six most stressful jobs in the world!

I’ve been divorced, had a dance with cancer in the form of a nodular melanoma and have pushed my stress levels beyond what should be done. The stress would manifest in the form of physical ailments and depression.

One of those chronic bouts was a result of frozen shoulder, a stubborn pain that would remain for many years – and give me cause to start my own business helping others.

How I became a Bowen Therapy convert

It was a happy accident
of sorts ….

My husband fell off the roof of our house and our neighbour, who was a Bowen therapist,
helped heal his pain.

Years later, with that frozen shoulder not getting any better, I found another Bowen therapist who helped me. I experienced first-hand the amazing benefits of the technique – and I decided to become a Bowen therapist too!

After I gained my Bowen certification in 2018, I realised I loved helping people to feel better (doh, that’s what I planned when I left high school!). The following year I decided to become a yoga teacher too. I’d been practicing yoga for more than 25 years and I knew how great it made me feel. I also experienced the power of combining yoga and Bowen Therapy to
help heal my frozen shoulder.

I’ve been treating clients with Bowen since 2019, and teaching yoga since the start of 2021. I love that the two modalities I enjoy dearly complement each other beautifully. When I see a Bowen patient, I know there is a yoga posture that will aid their healing. Or if a client is feeling stressed, a simple breathing technique will help calm them.

What’s next?

I’m glad you asked! My long term plan is to study yoga therapy (watch this space). For now, I live every day relishing that I get to help others through the modalities I love to practice myself.

I can’t wait to meet you.
